Ko-Mino Dragon kozuka

A solid gold dragon holding a dragon pearl in his claw, tradionally believed to be the source of their power and also called 'Dragon ball'.

The piece was likely created as Menuki around the Momoyama period (1573–1603) and married to a shakudo ground plate in edo times. The piece displays a pronounced depth to the carving and remains in very good condition.
